Pictures taken at Westmoreland State Park in Westmoreland County, VA on Thanksgiving Day. The park extends about one and a half miles along the Potomac River. The tree with the little brown prickly balls is called a sweetgum tree. There are plenty of them at the park. I have fond memories when I was younger at this park. Yes, I remember stepping on sweetgum balls when barefoot and getting stung by jellyfish! Ouch!
